Welcome
More than 1,400 people died and over a million women and children in Pakistan need emergency assistance after the worst floods since 1929.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, located in the mountains of north-western Pakistan, was most affected by this natural disaster. Many of the province's estimated 3.5 million residents lost their crops and saw their homes flooded, damaged, or destroyed. Basic but essential items like clothing, shoes, cooking utensils are lost. At this time, women and children are being moved to displacement camps and temporary shelters.
Given the magnitude of the disaster, it will take many months for people to resume their lives again. International and local non-governmental organizations cannot provide for all the affected people, and often they cannot access the most needy populations. Immediately after the flooding, I visited Charsadda and Nowshehra Districts to better understand the extent of the damage. I need your help to assist the flood victims, specifically women and children.
